Job Description
Interim Damp & Mould Surveyor - Initial 6 Month Contract - £35-40 per hour - Social Housing Client One of my clients is currently an interim Damp & Mould Surveyor to join a social housing client for an initial 6-month contract supporting the delivery of safe, healthy, and well-maintained homes for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections and surveys of residential properties affected by damp, mould, condensation, and disrepair.
- Diagnose the root causes of building defects and recommend appropriate remedial solutions.
- Produce detailed survey reports, specifications, and schedules of work.
- Manage and monitor remedial works undertaken by contractors, ensuring quality and value for money.
- Provide technical advice and support to residents, operatives, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant housing legislation, health and safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Investigate resident complaints and contribute to effective case resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems.
Requirements
- Previous experience surveying damp, mould, condensation, and building-related defects within social housing, local authority, or residential property settings.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs, and maintenance.
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing repair works.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Relevant surveying, construction, or building qualification (desirable).
