About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support their rapidly expanding AI platforms in Manchester . In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that fuels our cutting-edge machine learning models and AI applications. You will work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines are in place, enabling the development and deployment of sophisticated emerging technologies . This is a critical role for an individual who thrives on building robust data solutions and enabling data-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for ingesting, transforming, and loading large volumes of data from various sources.
- Build and manage data warehouses and data lakes to support AI and machine learning initiatives.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for analytical and modeling purposes.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand data requirements and provide optimal solutions.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning for data infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building scalable data pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Scala.
- Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, and cloud data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and database technologies (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Understanding of machine learning workflows and data requirements for AI models is a plus.
