About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in Big Data Technologies to join their team in Oxford . You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support our analytical and business intelligence needs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines using big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and reliability across all data systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide clean and accessible data for analysis and reporting.
- Implement data security and governance best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or Kafka.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, Java).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
