Data Privacy Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting their operations across the UK. This pivotal role involves advising the organization and its clients on compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR and UK GDPR. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data privacy strategies, conducting impact assessments, and managing data breaches. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated privacy professional to work autonomously, contribute significantly to data governance, and shape privacy practices within a forward-thinking organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of data protection and privacy law.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust data privacy policies and procedures.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on risk mitigation.
• Manage and respond to data breaches, including reporting to regulatory authorities.
• Advise on international data transfers and cross-border data flows.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the ICO and represent the company in privacy-related matters.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a strong focus on data privacy and technology law.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience advising on GDPR, UK GDPR, and related privacy regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of data protection principles and best practices.
• Experience in conducting DPIAs and managing data breach responses.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and advisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a remote workload effectively.
