About the Role
Our client is seeking an expert Data Privacy Lawyer to join their fully remote legal team, based remotely but with a focus on clients in Scotland and across the UK. This role is critical for advising businesses on compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data privacy strategies, conducting data protection impact assessments, and advising on data breaches. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on data protection laws (GDPR, DPA) and related privacy regulations.
- Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks for clients.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on mitigating risks.
- Assist clients in responding to data breaches and regulatory investigations.
- Advise on international data transfers, consent mechanisms, and data subject rights.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years of experience, with a strong specialization in data privacy and technology law.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and international privacy regimes.
- Experience advising on data breach incidents and regulatory enforcement actions.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote client interaction.
