About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialist Data Protection Lawyer to join their fully remote legal department, serving clients across the UK. This role is essential for ensuring businesses navigate the complexities of data privacy law, including GDPR and other relevant regulations. You will provide strategic advice, develop compliance programs, and assist clients in managing data breaches and privacy-related inquiries. This position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated data privacy expert to work autonomously and flexibly from any location within the UK , contributing significantly to client compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on all aspects of data protection law, including GDPR, CCPA, and UK data privacy regulations.
- Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and training programs for organizations.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on their outcomes.
- Assist clients in responding to data subject requests and managing data breach incidents.
- Review and advise on data processing agreements and international data transfers.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant experience in data protection and privacy law.
- Deep understanding of GDPR and other international data privacy frameworks.
- Proven experience in advising businesses on compliance strategies and risk mitigation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and advisory skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
