About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Data Protection Lawyer to join their forward-thinking legal team on a fully remote basis, supporting their Plymouth -based operations. This critical role involves advising on all aspects of data privacy law, including GDPR, CCPA, and other global data protection regulations. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust data privacy strategies, ensuring compliance across the organisation, and managing data breach incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on data protection and privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other international regulations.
• Develop, review, and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on risk mitigation.
• Manage and advise on data breach incidents, including reporting obligations.
• Liaise with data protection authorities and external counsel as needed.
• Provide training to staff on data protection best practices and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years of experience, specialising in data protection and privacy law.
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant global privacy frameworks.
• Proven experience in advising on data processing agreements and cross-border data transfers.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and advisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects in a fully remote setting.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and data breach response protocols.
