Data Protection Lawyer

About the Role

Our client, a leading international organisation with significant operations, is seeking a highly experienced Data Protection Lawyer to oversee their global data privacy compliance. This senior role is critical for advising on all aspects of data protection law, including GDPR and other international regulations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data privacy strategies, managing compliance programmes, and advising on data breaches. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the UK, contributing to a flexible and modern working culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on data protection laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy regulations worldwide.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies and procedures.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage data breach incidents, including notification obligations and regulatory liaison.
• Advise on data processing agreements, cross-border data transfers, and data subject rights.
• Train and educate internal teams on data protection best practices and legal requirements.

Requirements

• A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 6 years of experience, with a strong focus on data protection and privacy law.
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR and other international data privacy frameworks.
• Experience in advising multinational corporations on data privacy compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented advice.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, capable of working effectively in a remote team environment.
