About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Data Scientist to join their analytics team in Leeds . This role is crucial for unlocking insights from vast datasets within the energy sector , driving data-informed decision-making. You will work on complex problems related to energy consumption, production optimization, and market forecasting. This position requires an on-site presence to foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration of data-driven solutions into operational strategies and product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics and forecasting in the energy domain.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights related to energy production and consumption.
- Design and implement A/B tests and other experimental designs to evaluate the impact of new strategies.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data science solutions into production systems.
- Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and energy analytics.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Scientist, with a strong portfolio of projects.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and associated libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into data science solutions.
