Delivery Driver & Loader - Too Good To Chuck (TGTC)

£13.05 per hour | 25 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 2:30pm

2 Positions Available

Are you a reliable, physically fit individual who enjoys being on the road and making a genuine difference in your local community? We are looking for two motivated individuals to join the Too Good To Chuck (TGTC) project, helping to give unwanted furniture and household items a second life while supporting residents in need across Wolverhampton.

This is more than a driving role. You'll play a vital part in reducing waste, supporting sustainability initiatives, and helping vulnerable individuals and families access essential household items.

About the Role

Working as part of a two-person team, you will drive a 3.5-tonne vehicle (standard UK driving licence required) to collect reusable furniture and household goods from recycling centres and deliver them to those who need them most.

At the start of the week, you'll collect donated items from the recycling centres at Shaw Road and Anchor Lane and transport them to East Park Church, where the items are sorted and prepared for redistribution. Throughout the week, you'll receive delivery schedules and job sheets, collect items from the church, and deliver them directly to residents across the local area.

This is a hands-on role that involves regular lifting and moving of larger items such as sofas, wardrobes, dining tables, and other household furniture.

Key Responsibilities

Drive a 3.5-tonne vehicle safely and professionally. Collect reusable furniture and household goods from designated recycling centres. Deliver donated items to East Park Church for sorting and storage. Complete scheduled deliveries to households and community beneficiaries. Load, unload, lift, and move furniture and household items safely. Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects. Follow delivery schedules and complete jobs within allocated timeframes. Maintain accurate delivery and collection records. Provide a professional and courteous service to residents, community partners, and colleagues. Adhere to health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence (Category B). Confidence driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle. Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy furniture. Strong time management skills with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines. Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Excellent customer service and communication skills. A positive attitude and willingness to support a community-focused project.

Desirable Experience

Previous delivery driving experience. Experience in removals, warehouse, logistics, or manual handling roles. Experience working within community-based or charitable projects.

Why Apply?

The Too Good To Chuck project helps prevent quality furniture and household goods from going to waste while providing practical support to local people in need. Every collection and delivery you complete has a direct impact on the community.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in delivering great service, and wants to be part of a project that makes a real difference every day.

Apply today and help turn unwanted items into essential support for local families and individuals across Wolverhampton.

If you do not hear back in 5 working days your application has not been successful.
