Delivery Driver - Local Routes

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable and experienced Delivery Driver to join their established local delivery team in Coventry . In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods to customers within the designated service area. You will be the face of our client for many customers, requiring excellent customer service skills alongside your driving expertise. This is a hands-on position that involves physical work, including loading and unloading packages, and requires a commitment to punctuality and route efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a company vehicle on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, assisting customers as needed.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including proof of delivery and any required paperwork.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly to the fleet manager.
• Plan and optimize daily routes to ensure maximum efficiency and timely deliveries.

Requirements

• Valid UK driving license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
• Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry packages up to a specified weight.
• Strong knowledge of the Coventry area and surrounding routes.
• Excellent time management and customer service skills.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
