About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Delivery Operations Manager to oversee their delivery network from their Norwich base. This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in logistics management, combining on-site operational leadership with remote planning and analysis. You will be responsible for managing the entire delivery process, from route optimization and fleet management to team supervision and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will drive efficiency, implement best practices, and ensure the highest standards of service delivery, contributing significantly to the company's growth and operational success in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize delivery routes, fleet utilisation, and operational costs.
- Manage and lead a team of drivers and dispatchers, fostering a culture of performance and safety.
- Oversee fleet maintenance, ensuring all vehicles are compliant, safe, and operational.
- Monitor delivery performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
- Liaise with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Handle escalated customer issues and ensure prompt, satisfactory resolutions.
- Implement and maintain company policies and procedures related to delivery operations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in delivery operations management or a senior logistics role.
- Proven ability to manage and lead teams effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Strong understanding of fleet management, route planning software, and WMS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of the Norwich area and surrounding delivery networks.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
