Delivery Route Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an organized and meticulous Delivery Route Planner to join their logistics team in Bristol . This critical role involves designing the most efficient routes for their delivery fleet, ensuring timely arrivals and optimizing fuel consumption across the South West England region. You will work closely with drivers and the dispatch team to manage daily schedules, adapt to real-time changes, and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for logistics planning and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the smooth and cost-effective operation of their delivery network.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles using specialized routing software.
• Coordinate with drivers and the dispatch team to ensure efficient execution of planned routes.
• Monitor delivery progress and make real-time adjustments to routes due to traffic, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Analyze delivery data to identify opportunities for route efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Ensure all deliveries are scheduled within customer time windows and company service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, delivery times, and vehicle performance metrics.

Requirements

• Previous experience in route planning, logistics coordination, or a similar operational role.
• Proficiency with route optimization software and mapping tools.
• Strong geographical knowledge of Bristol and the surrounding South West England area.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with drivers and staff.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
