About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Delivery Team Leader to supervise their delivery operations in Portsmouth . This role requires a blend of operational oversight and team management, ensuring that all deliveries are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest customer service standards. You will be responsible for leading a team of drivers, managing daily schedules, and acting as the first point of contact for operational queries. The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics or delivery services and possesses excellent leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of delivery drivers to achieve performance targets.
• Oversee daily delivery schedules, ensuring timely and efficient route planning and execution.
• Conduct regular checks on vehicle maintenance and driver compliance with safety regulations.
• Address customer queries and resolve any delivery-related issues promptly and professionally.
• Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback and support.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of operational improvements within the Portsmouth depot.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within the delivery or logistics sector.
• Strong understanding of delivery operations, route planning, and vehicle management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hybrid team structure.
• Valid UK driving license and a good driving record.
• Familiarity with the Portsmouth area is advantageous.
