About the Role
Our client, a leading organisation in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Demand Planner to join their supply chain team in Liverpool . This hybrid role is critical for ensuring accurate forecasting of product demand, optimizing inventory levels, and improving overall supply chain efficiency. You will work closely with sales, marketing, and operations to provide essential insights that support business planning and customer satisfaction. This is a key position for an individual looking to make a significant impact within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate demand forecasts for all product lines using statistical models and market intelligence.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather input for forecasts and align on business plans.
- Monitor forecast accuracy, identify root causes of deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize inventory levels to minimize stock-outs and reduce excess inventory holding costs.
- Support the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process by providing reliable demand insights.
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to inform future forecasting.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning or forecasting, preferably in the FMCG industry .
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical forecasting techniques.
- Experience with demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra) or advanced Excel.
- Understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
