Job Description
I am recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to join a residential children's home in Southend.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced care professional who is passionate about supporting young people and committed to delivering high-quality care. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates effectively, safely and in line with Ofsted and regulatory requirements.
* Support the Registered Manager with the overall management and day-to-day running of the home.
* Promote the safety, welfare, development and wellbeing of the young people.
* Lead, motivate and support the staff team to deliver high-quality care.
* Assist with recruitment, safer recruitment checks, inductions and onboarding.
* Support staff development through training, supervision, appraisals and performance management.
* Monitor care standards and identify areas for improvement.
* Assist with audits, quality assurance and compliance checks.
* Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations, legislation and relevant policies.
* Support safeguarding, incident, complaint and investigation processes.
* Assist with preparing for inspections and implementing any required actions.
* Help ensure appropriate staffing levels and resources are maintained.
* Support admissions, transitions and care planning for young people.
* Work alongside social workers, families and other professionals involved in the young people's care.
* Ensure records, care plans and documentation are accurate and kept up to date.
* Support appropriate activities and educational opportunities for young people.
* Ensure young people's health, care and emotional wellbeing needs are appropriately supported.
* Promote positive relationships and a supportive environment for young people and staff.
* Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
* Participate in a management on-call rota.
* Continuously promote and improve the quality of care provided within the home.
About You
* Previous experience within a residential children's home.
* Experience at Deputy Manager, Senior or another leadership level.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's residential care.
* Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
* A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent is required.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management is desirable.
