Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home

Brook Street Social Care is currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a newly renovated Children's Residential Home in Purley .

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, dedicated team that places the welfare and best interests of children at the heart of everything they do . The home has recently received an OFSTED rating of 'Good' with Outstanding Leadership & Management , and the team is now looking for a passionate and committed Deputy Manager to help drive the next stage of development.

About the Home

The four-bedded children's home provides a supportive, family-style environment for young people aged 9-18 (male and female) with social, emotional and behavioural needs .

The service is committed to providing young people with meaningful opportunities including:

• Therapeutic interventions

Working closely with the Registered Manager and senior leadership team , you will play a key role in shaping the development of the service and ensuring the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
• Provide strong leadership, supervision and support to the staff team
• Ensure the service delivers high-quality care that exceeds Ofsted standards
• Promote a positive and supportive team culture
• Monitor and review policies, procedures and care plans
• Ensure safeguarding and compliance with relevant legislation
• Support the ongoing development and training of staff
• Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior role within a Children's Residential Home
• Strong understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
• Experience supervising and managing staff teams
• Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and relevant legislation
• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
• Passion, resilience and dedication to improving outcomes for young people
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis , including some evenings and weekends

Experience Required

Minimum 2 years' experience working in an OFSTED-regulated Residential Children's Home .
