About the Role

At Reddish Hall School, we know that sport and physical activity can be life-changing. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate PE professional who wants to make a genuine difference beyond the sports field. You'll play a vital role in helping young people overcome challenges, celebrate success, develop healthy lifestyles and build positive relationships through engaging and meaningful physical activity.

Working alongside the PE Lead, you'll help deliver an inclusive, ambitious and inspiring PE curriculum that encourages every student to participate, progress and thrive. You'll also help expand extra-curricular opportunities, champion student wellbeing and contribute to a PE provision that equips young people with the confidence, skills and resilience they need both in school and beyond.

What you will be doing

• Deliver high-quality, inclusive PE lessons tailored to a range of SEND and SEMH needs.
• Support the PE Lead with the planning, organisation and development of PE provision.
• Adapt activities to promote participation, confidence, resilience and achievement.
• Organise PE resources, equipment, venue bookings and activity schedules.
• Transport students safely to and from off-site sports facilities and activities.
• Contribute to risk assessments and ensure safe practice during PE and enrichment activities.
• Support extra-curricular clubs, sports events, enrichment programmes and structured physical activities.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews, reports and EHCP outcomes.
• Build positive relationships and use trauma-informed approaches to support engagement and behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and therapy teams to maximise student success.

What you will bring

We are looking for someone who is passionate about physical education and committed to improving outcomes for young people with additional needs.

• QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Strong PE subject knowledge and experience teaching secondary-aged students
• An understanding of SEMH, Autism, ADHD and SEND needs
• The ability to adapt learning for students with different abilities and barriers to engagement
• Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing
• A passion for sport, enrichment, extra-curricular activities and promoting healthy lifestyles
• A valid UK driving licence and willingness to transport students off-site

Whatever your role, joining OFG Education means contributing to our shared ambition: empowering every student to success through truly personalised education.

About Our School

Reddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school in Stockport for students with social, emotional and mental health needs, often alongside diagnoses such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. Many of our students are academically able but have experienced significant barriers to education because of complex mental-health needs, which may include anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm and disordered eating.

We offer a nurturing and highly individualised education without compromising on academic ambition. Small classes, skilled teaching and carefully tailored support enable students to re-engage with learning and work towards a broad range of meaningful qualifications and future pathways. Academic study is complemented by vocational opportunities and a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development.

Reddish Hall is not a traditional SEMH provision. It is a calm, aspirational learning community in which students are understood as individuals and supported to feel safe, rebuild confidence and recognise their own potential. Through specialist support and close partnerships with families and other professionals, we help every student prepare for a positive and fulfilling life beyond school.

We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a 'Great Place to Work' for the sixth year running.
