About the Role

Teaching Consultancy is working with a [welcoming and well-resourced] secondary school in Newham to recruit a Design and Technology Teacher from November 2026. You’ll teach D&T across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 [and KS5], helping students build practical, creative and problem-solving skills in a well-equipped department.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced D&T teacher or an enthusiastic ECT looking for a supportive school.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Planning and delivering engaging D&T lessons across KS3 and KS4 [and KS5]

• Teaching Product Design / Resistant Materials / Textiles / Electronics

• Supporting students through GCSE coursework (NEA) and practical projects

• Making sure workshop health and safety procedures are followed

• Assessing, marking and tracking student progress

• Working with the Head of Department to develop the curriculum

What We’re Looking For

• QTS (or equivalent), with a specialism in Design and Technology

• Experience teaching D&T in UK secondary schools (ECTs welcome to apply)

• Confident, safe workshop practice

• Strong behaviour management and a positive, organised approach

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

• The right to work in the UK
