Job Description
White Label is representing a specialist engineering business in Bradford who require a Design Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to join a business that designs and builds bespoke machinery and equipment for a diverse range of customers, working on technically challenging projects from concept through to commissioning.
You will be involved across the full project lifecycle from initial design and 3D modelling through to manufacture, installation, and handover - working closely with customers, project managers, and internal fabrication and machining teams. Salary & Benefits
- £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
- Working hours: 08:00–17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00–14:00 on Friday (with 30 minutes for lunch)

Duties of the Design Engineer
- Design and develop purpose-built machinery and equipment to meet customer specifications
- Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and assembly drawings
- Design conveyor systems, robotic integrations, machine frames, and associated mechanical equipment
- Produce accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
- Liaise with fabrication and machining departments to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable
- Support projects throughout the full lifecycle from concept through to manufacture, installation, and commissioning
- Participate in design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards and safety requirements
- Assist with problem-solving and continuous improvement activities
Experience Required of the Design Engineer
- Proven experience in the design of bespoke machinery and equipment
- Experience designing conveyor systems, robotic applications and integrations, and structural machine frames and fabricated assemblies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, and assembly
- Proficient in SolidWorks (highly desirable)
- Experience with AutoCAD (desirable)
- Knowledge of CE/UKCA machinery requirements and machinery risk assessments (desirable)
- HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
