Job Description
White Label is working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Worksop that requires an experienced Design Engineer to join their team.
As Design Engineer, you will work within a close-knit engineering team developing bespoke design solutions for materials handling and structural steelwork projects. You will take ownership of designs from site survey through to a full set of manufacturing drawings, playing a key role across the full project lifecycle.
My client is offering a salary of £40,000 – £45,000 dependent on experience, plus benefits:

Duties of the Design Engineer
- Attending sites to carry out surveys and producing workable general arrangement drawings for proposal.
- Producing both GA and detailed fabrication drawings for primary and secondary steelwork, conveying and storage equipment, tanks, silos, hoppers and chute work.
- Taking GA drawings produced by yourself or others and completing a full set of manufacturing drawings for the fabrication shop.
- Contributing to tender packages with input on design, cost and quality optimisation.
- Working with laser scanned data, point clouds and Navisworks to manage, coordinate and create models.
- Mentoring and supervising apprentices and attending client review meetings as required.
Experience Required of the Design Engineer
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in materials handling, mechanical engineering, structural and secondary steelwork.
- Ideally experienced with heavy duty conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, pipe work, large ductwork, structural steel, staircases and platforms.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D — able to produce comprehensive manufacturing drawings and general arrangements.
- Working knowledge of Advance Steel or Tekla; experience with other 3D software is advantageous.
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site survey work across the UK.
