About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join their expanding team in Portsmouth . You will provide essential support to individuals with various disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. This role involves assisting with daily living, promoting social inclusion, and supporting personal development goals. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and committed to delivering person-centred care, ensuring that individuals receive the respect and support they deserve in the Hampshire region. You will work as part of a supportive team committed to enhancing the lives of those we support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support tailored to the individual needs of clients with disabilities.
• Assist with personal care, household tasks, and accessing the community.
• Support clients in participating in social, recreational, and educational activities.
• Promote independence and encourage clients to develop new skills.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided.
• Liaise with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities is an advantage.
• A genuine passion for helping others and promoting independence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and some evenings in Portsmouth .
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
