This role is essential for managing the day-to-day activities within the distribution centre, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts and system updates.
- Implement and enforce health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Manage workload distribution and ensure efficient use of resources and equipment.
- Train and mentor new and existing warehouse team members, fostering a culture of high performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution centre supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a team effectively and motivate staff to achieve targets.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
