About the Role
Our client is seeking a specialized Drainage Engineer to contribute to their projects from their Plymouth office. This role will focus on the design, assessment, and implementation of effective surface water and foul water drainage systems for various development projects. You will work closely with planning authorities and construction teams to ensure sustainable and compliant drainage solutions are delivered. Key Responsibilities
- Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), foul water networks, and surface water management strategies.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations and modeling for drainage systems using specialized software.
- Prepare drainage design reports, drawings, and specifications compliant with relevant UK standards.
- Liaise with water authorities, environmental agencies, and local planning departments.
- Assess existing drainage infrastructure and propose upgrade or repair solutions.
- Provide expert advice on flood risk assessment and mitigation measures.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in drainage engineering design.
- Proficiency in drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Strong knowledge of UK drainage standards, flood risk, and SuDS principles.
- Experience in preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
