About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and safety-conscious Drilling Engineer to join their established team based in Birmingham . This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, focusing on the planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective drilling campaigns, working closely with field personnel and management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of drilling technologies and a commitment to operational excellence within the demanding Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive drilling programs and well plans, including procedures for casing, cementing, and fluid management.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for drilling hazards.
• Supervise drilling operations, either remotely or on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce non-productive time (NPT).
• Manage relationships with drilling contractors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Drilling Engineer in the Oil & Gas sector .
• Thorough knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with drilling simulation and analysis software.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team coordination.
