About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Drilling Engineer to join their operational team in Manchester . This role is crucial for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling operations. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising drilling campaigns, ensuring adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in drilling engineering and a hands-on approach to problem-solving in a field-oriented environment, contributing directly to the success of upstream operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs and procedures for exploration and development wells.
• Prepare drilling cost estimates and manage drilling budgets effectively.
• Oversee drilling operations on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Select appropriate drilling equipment, fluids, and techniques for various geological conditions.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce non-productive time.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for drilling-related issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in drilling engineering , with hands-on operational experience.
• Solid understanding of drilling mechanics, well control principles, and casing design.
• Experience with drilling simulation software and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in the oil and gas industry .
• Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities in challenging operational settings.
