Drilling Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Drilling Engineer to support their operations from their strategic base in Cardiff . This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling operations, from planning and design through to execution and post-well analysis. You will play a critical part in ensuring operational integrity and adherence to the highest safety standards in the demanding Oil & Gas industry. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging projects within Wales and contribute to the company's expanding portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs and contingency plans for various well types.
• Supervise and manage drilling operations on location, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
• Perform daily drilling performance analysis and implement improvements.
• Manage drilling equipment, services, and contractors to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct post-well reviews to identify lessons learned and optimize future drilling plans.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all drilling activities and costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering , including hands-on operational exposure.
• Strong understanding of drilling hydraulics, well control, and formation evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency in drilling software and project management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
