About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Drilling Fluids Specialist to join their operational team in Bradford . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the management, optimization, and testing of drilling fluid systems to ensure efficient and safe drilling operations. You will work closely with drilling crews and engineers on-site, providing critical expertise to solve fluid-related challenges and maintain optimal drilling performance. This position demands a strong understanding of fluid chemistry and rheology in demanding downhole conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain drilling fluid systems to meet specified performance requirements for various formations and drilling conditions.
• Conduct regular fluid testing and analysis on-site, interpreting results and making necessary adjustments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve drilling fluid problems, such as loss circulation, stuck pipe, and wellbore instability.
• Prepare daily and end-of-well fluid performance reports.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and rig crews to ensure efficient fluid management.
• Maintain inventory of drilling fluid products and consumables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or Specialist in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluid properties, additives, and their impact on drilling performance.
• Familiarity with fluid testing equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a field-based environment.
