Drilling Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Drilling Operations Manager to oversee and manage all drilling activities for their projects, primarily based out of Coventry . This role demands a leader with extensive experience in directing complex drilling campaigns, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for planning, execution, and monitoring of drilling operations, managing a team of drilling engineers and supervisors. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to engage with field operations while maintaining a strategic oversight from the office, contributing to the successful delivery of critical oil and gas infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive drilling plans and programs in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and manage drilling crews and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to optimize operations.
• Manage drilling budgets, control costs, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
• Conduct post-drill analysis and performance reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling operations within the oil and gas industry .
• Proven experience in managing onshore and/or offshore drilling campaigns.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and associated risks.
• Proficiency in drilling software and project management tools.
• Relevant industry certifications and a degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
