Drilling Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented and safety-focused Drilling Operations Manager to lead their drilling campaigns in and around Cardiff . This senior position involves overseeing all aspects of drilling operations, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and within budget. You will manage drilling crews, equipment, and contractors, playing a pivotal role in the successful execution of exploration and production activities within the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of drilling technologies and risk management in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise all drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
• Manage drilling budgets, resource allocation, and operational timelines effectively.
• Lead and mentor drilling supervisors and rig crews, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
• Oversee the selection, procurement, and maintenance of drilling equipment and services.
• Collaborate with subsurface teams to optimize drilling performance and minimize non-productive time (NPT).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in drilling operations , with a significant portion in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex drilling projects in the Oil & Gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluids, well control, directional drilling, and cementing operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
