About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Drilling Operations Manager to oversee all drilling and completion activities for their projects based in and around Cardiff . This leadership position is responsible for ensuring all drilling operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations and company standards. You will manage drilling teams, rig operations, and associated service providers, playing a crucial role in the successful execution of upstream oil and gas projects. This is a challenging yet rewarding role for an experienced drilling professional looking to lead significant operational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the drilling execution plan, ensuring safety and efficiency targets are met.
- Supervise drilling crews and manage rig operations, including equipment, logistics, and personnel.
- Oversee well planning, cost control, and resource allocation for all drilling campaigns.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with engineering, geology, and other departments to coordinate drilling activities effectively.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in drilling operations management, preferably with a degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven track record in managing complex drilling projects within the oil and gas sector .
- In-depth knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory frameworks governing drilling operations in the UK.
