About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Scientist to join their thriving research and development department. This role, situated in Sheffield , offers a hybrid working arrangement, balancing remote flexibility with essential laboratory-based work. You will be integral in characterizing the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) properties of drug candidates, providing critical data to guide preclinical and clinical development strategies. Your expertise in DMPK will significantly influence the selection and advancement of promising new therapies. This position requires a strong scientific background, hands-on laboratory experience, and the ability to interpret complex pharmacokinetic data within a collaborative, evolving research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the ADME properties of drug candidates.
- Analyze pharmacokinetic data and interpret results to inform drug development decisions.
- Develop and validate bioanalytical methods for quantifying drug and metabolite concentrations in biological matrices.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemists and biologists to optimize drug candidates for improved pharmacokinetic profiles.
- Prepare study reports, presentations, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
- Stay current with advancements in DMPK science and relevant technologies.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field with a focus on DMPK.
- Proven experience in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with various bioanalytical techniques (e.g., LC-MS/MS) and pharmacokinetic modeling software.
- Strong understanding of drug development processes and regulatory expectations for DMPK data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, managing both laboratory and remote tasks.
