Drug Safety Physician - Pharmaceutical

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Drug Safety Physician to join their pharmacovigilance team in Reading . This senior medical role is responsible for the medical assessment of adverse event reports, signal detection, and the development of safety strategies for assigned pharmaceutical products. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of our client's medicines throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise for the assessment of individual adverse event cases and aggregate safety data.
• Lead the identification, evaluation, and characterization of potential safety signals.
• Contribute to the preparation of safety documents, including Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs), DSURs, and Risk Management Plans (RMPs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, clinical development, and medical affairs, on safety-related matters.
• Review and approve safety-related sections of regulatory submissions and core labeling documents.
• Participate in safety monitoring committees and provide medical input for clinical trial design and ongoing studies.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) qualification with a license to practice.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in drug safety and pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for drug safety monitoring globally.
• Experience in medical assessment of adverse events and signal detection methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and medical judgment skills.
• Proficiency in working within a hybrid environment, supporting teams in Reading and remotely.
