Drug Safety Physician

About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized pharmaceutical leader , is seeking an experienced and dedicated Drug Safety Physician to join their critical pharmacovigilance team. This role, based in Plymouth , will involve the medical assessment of adverse event reports, contributing to the safety profile assessment of marketed and investigational drugs. You will play an instrumental role in safeguarding public health by ensuring the timely and accurate medical evaluation of safety data. This position requires a physician with a strong clinical background and a keen interest in drug safety and risk management within the pharmaceutical industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise for the assessment of adverse event reports, including causality assessment.
• Contribute to the medical review and interpretation of safety data from clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance.
• Participate in the preparation and review of aggregate safety reports, such as Periodic Benefit-Risk Evaluation Reports (PBRERs).
• Collaborate with other functional areas, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs, on safety-related matters.
• Assist in the development and implementation of risk management plans (RMPs).
• Provide medical input for signal detection and evaluation activities.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (M.D. or equivalent) with relevant post-graduate qualifications and medical licensure.
• Significant experience in clinical practice and a strong understanding of disease states.
• Previous experience in Pharmacovigilance or drug safety within the pharmaceutical industry is essential.
• Thorough knowledge of global regulatory requirements for drug safety and pharmacovigilance.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
