Drug Safety Physician

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Drug Safety Physician to lead safety assessment activities for their pharmaceutical portfolio. This critical office-based role in our Oxford location ensures the ongoing safety and efficacy monitoring of our marketed drugs and investigational products. You will be responsible for evaluating safety data, identifying potential risks, and contributing to risk management strategies to protect public health. This senior physician role is vital in maintaining our commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct medical assessment of adverse event reports and clinical safety data.
• Lead signal detection and risk assessment activities for assigned products.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Risk Management Plans (RMPs).
• Author and review aggregate safety reports (e.g., DSURs, PSURs) for regulatory submissions.
• Provide medical expertise to pharmacovigilance, regulatory, and clinical development teams.
• Serve as a medical expert during regulatory authority interactions and inspections.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety within the pharmaceutical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations and guidelines (ICH, FDA, EMA).
• Strong clinical medicine background and ability to critically evaluate medical literature.
• Excellent medical judgment, analytical skills, and leadership abilities.
