About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute E-commerce Trading Manager to drive online sales performance from their Edinburgh office. This critical role involves developing and executing strategies to optimize the online trading calendar, enhance the customer journey, and maximize revenue across the e-commerce platform. You will be responsible for merchandising, promotions, and data analysis to ensure the online store is competitive and profitable. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the online trading calendar, planning and executing promotional campaigns and events.
- Optimize website merchandising, product placement, and category management to drive sales and improve user experience.
- Analyze sales data, website traffic, and customer behavior to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and operations teams to ensure cohesive execution of trading strategies.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to ensure the online offering remains competitive.
- Manage pricing strategies and promotional activities to achieve revenue and margin targets.
Requirements
- Proven experience (4+ years) as an E-commerce Trading Manager or in a similar online retail role.
- Strong understanding of online merchandising, e-commerce best practices, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Experience with A/B testing and website personalization techniques.
- Strong commercial acumen and a results-driven approach to online sales.
- Proficiency in e-commerce platforms and web analytics tools.
