Early Years Education Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Education Officer to join their dedicated team in Derby . This role is central to ensuring high-quality education and care for young children within the early years framework. You will play a key part in developing and implementing stimulating learning experiences that promote child development, well-being, and readiness for school. Working closely with nursery staff, parents, and external agencies, you will champion best practices in early childhood education and create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum for the early years foundation stage , adhering to national standards.
• Support and guide nursery staff in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities.
• Monitor children's progress and development, identifying individual needs and implementing targeted interventions.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with children, parents, and carers, promoting effective home-school links.
• Ensure compliance with all safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (or equivalent).
• Significant experience (3+ years) working in an early years setting , preferably in a leadership or coordination role.
• In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent understanding of child development and play-based learning principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for early childhood education.
