Early Years Educator - SEN Focus

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and caring Early Years Educator with a Special Educational Needs (SEN) focus for their established nursery in Derby . This vital role involves providing specialised support to children with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with SEN coordinators, parents, and external professionals to implement effective support strategies within a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, individualized support to children with SEN, implementing tailored learning and development plans.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and external agencies to ensure consistent and effective support for children.
• Adapt learning activities and environments to meet the specific needs of children with disabilities or additional needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of children's progress, observations, and interventions.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and support needs.
• Promote an inclusive culture where all children are valued, respected, and encouraged to participate fully.

Requirements

• A relevant childcare qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an early years context.
• A strong understanding of child development and various SEN conditions relevant to young children.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting children.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team in Derby and adhere to safeguarding policies.
