Early Years Educator (SEN Focus)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Years Educator with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join their inclusive nursery in Sheffield . You will play a crucial role in providing tailored support and a stimulating learning environment for children with diverse learning needs. Working closely with the SEN Coordinator and the wider team, you will implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), facilitate sensory development, and ensure that all children, regardless of their abilities, have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. This role is perfect for an educator passionate about inclusive practice and making a real difference in the lives of young children.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care and education to children, with a specific focus on supporting those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies developed by the SEN Coordinator.
• Observe, assess, and document the progress of children, particularly those requiring additional support.
• Create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of all children.
• Collaborate effectively with parents, SEN professionals, and the wider nursery team to ensure a cohesive approach to support.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet the specific learning styles and developmental needs of children.

Requirements

• A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or a related field.
• Experience working with children with SEN in an early years setting is essential.
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and SEN policies.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive, can-do attitude towards supporting children's learning.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
