About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Years SEND Co-ordinator to oversee and develop inclusive practice within their childcare setting in Oxford . This strategic role involves leading the implementation of support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and education. You will work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to create individualised support plans and foster an inclusive culture throughout the nursery. This is a key position for someone passionate about SEND and committed to making a significant impact in Oxfordshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor the nursery's SEND policy and procedures.
- Lead and support the team in identifying, assessing, and meeting the needs of children with SEND.
- Liaise effectively with parents, external professionals, and agencies to ensure seamless support for children.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive practices and SEND support strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to children with SEND.
- Advocate for children with SEND, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., Level 3 Diploma, EYITT, Foundation Degree).
- Significant experience working with children with SEND in an early years setting, with experience in a coordination or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework, SEND Code of Practice, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
