Early Years Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a caring and dedicated Early Years Support Worker to assist in their nursery setting in Plymouth . This role is crucial in supporting the room leaders and practitioners in providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for young children. You will assist with daily routines, facilitate play-based learning activities, and help ensure the well-being of every child. This is an excellent part-time opportunity for someone passionate about starting or continuing a career in childcare within the Devon area, offering valuable experience in early childhood education and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist practitioners in delivering daily care and educational activities to children aged 0-5.
• Support children's play and learning, encouraging their curiosity and development.
• Help maintain a safe, hygienic, and stimulating environment for the children.
• Assist with children's personal care needs as required.
• Observe children's progress and contribute to their learning records.
• Work collaboratively with the nursery team to ensure high standards of care.

Requirements

• A Level 1 or 2 qualification in Childcare or a related field is desirable but not essential.
• Previous experience in a childcare setting is a plus.
• A genuine passion for working with young children.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Understanding of basic safeguarding principles.
