Educational Psychologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Educational Psychologist to join a dedicated team supporting schools and educational settings across Edinburgh and surrounding areas. This role involves conducting psychological assessments, providing consultations to schools, parents, and other professionals, and developing intervention strategies to support children and young people with a wide range of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs. You will play a vital role in promoting the well-being and educational outcomes of young people within the Scottish education system.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children and young people to identify learning, developmental, and emotional needs.
• Provide expert consultation and support to schools, parents, and other stakeholders on matters relating to child psychology and education.
• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies and support plans.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of training programmes for educational professionals.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions, adhering to professional ethical standards.

Requirements

• A recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.
• Professional registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., HCPC in the UK).
• Significant experience in conducting psychological assessments and delivering interventions within an educational context.
• Strong understanding of child development, learning processes, and mental health.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse settings in Edinburgh .
