Educational Psychologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and dedicated Educational Psychologist to join their supportive service team based in Plymouth . In this multifaceted role, you will apply your expertise in psychology to assess, understand, and support children and young people facing educational, developmental, and emotional challenges. You will work collaboratively with schools, parents, and other professionals to develop effective interventions and strategies that promote positive outcomes for young learners. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children and young people to identify learning, developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions and support strategies for individuals and groups.
• Provide consultation and training to teachers, parents, and other professionals on psychological principles and best practices.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide positive behaviour support systems and mental health initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to the well-being and educational progress of children.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and recommendations.

Requirements

• A recognised postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology.
• Professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent.
• Significant experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing interventions in educational settings.
• In-depth knowledge of child development, learning theories, and psychological assessment tools.
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and consultation skills.
