Electrical Controls Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join their innovative team in Stoke-on-Trent . This hybrid role offers a blend of remote work flexibility and on-site collaboration. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical control systems for various industrial applications. This is a key position that requires a strong understanding of automation, PLCs, and HMI systems to drive efficiency and reliability in our client's operations. You will work within a supportive engineering department focused on delivering high-quality automated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC and HMI software for industrial automation systems.
• Create electrical schematics and panel layouts for control systems.
• Install, commission, and troubleshoot automated machinery and process control systems.
• Program and configure variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo motors, and other automation components.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
• Maintain and update existing control system documentation and software.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in industrial automation and control system design.
• Proficiency with major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI software.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, motor controls, and power distribution.
• Experience working in a hybrid remote and on-site capacity.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
