About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with a specialization in Power Systems to join their innovative team in Cambridge . Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical power systems, including distribution networks, substations, and protection schemes.
- Perform load flow analysis, fault calculations, and stability studies using specialized software.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic for power systems.
- Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and cabling.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international electrical standards (e.g., IEC, BS).
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate power systems seamlessly into broader projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on Power Systems.
- Proven experience in the design and analysis of industrial or commercial power systems.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Understanding of protection relays , earthing systems, and power quality.
- Familiarity with CAD software for electrical drawings.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid work setup.
