Electrical Design Engineer - Power Systems

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power systems, including distribution networks, substations, and protection schemes.
• Perform load flow analysis, fault calculations, and stability studies using specialized software.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic for power systems.
• Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and cabling.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international electrical standards (e.g., IEC, BS).
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate power systems seamlessly into broader projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on Power Systems.
• Proven experience in the design and analysis of industrial or commercial power systems.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Understanding of protection relays , earthing systems, and power quality.
• Familiarity with CAD software for electrical drawings.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid work setup.
