About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Power Systems to join their esteemed team in Cambridge . This role is integral to the design, analysis, and implementation of robust power infrastructure and systems. You will work on a variety of challenging projects, ensuring the efficient and reliable distribution of electrical power. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical power systems, including distribution networks, substations, and protection schemes.
- Perform power system analysis, load flow studies, and short circuit calculations using specialized software.
- Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and generators.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant power system standards, codes, and regulations.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate power systems into larger project designs.
- Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operational phases of projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems engineering.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of electrical protection relays and schemes.
- Experience with renewable energy integration is a significant advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
