About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Liverpool . This role is essential for conceptualizing and developing electrical designs for a diverse range of projects, from industrial automation to building services. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into detailed electrical schematics and specifications, ensuring all designs are compliant, efficient, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics, control panels, and wiring diagrams for various applications.
- Specify electrical components, materials, and equipment, ensuring suitability and availability.
- Conduct electrical calculations for load assessment, voltage drop, and short circuit current.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, BOMs, and installation instructions.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and installation teams to ensure design intent is met.
- Assist with the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven experience in electrical design, preferably within an industrial or building services context.
- Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Good understanding of electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., BS 7671).
- Familiarity with control systems, PLCs, and variable speed drives is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a project team.
