About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their established team based in Coventry, West Midlands . This role is crucial for developing innovative electrical designs for a diverse range of industrial and commercial applications. You will be responsible for translating project requirements into robust and efficient electrical schematics and system designs, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and client specifications. The successful candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment, working closely with manufacturing and site teams to bring designs to life, and contribute to the company's reputation for engineering excellence in the Coventry region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for various systems.
- Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials for project requirements.
- Perform power, load, and fault current calculations to ensure system integrity and safety.
- Prepare technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and design reports.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure component specifications are met.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, with a strong portfolio of design projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Knowledge of relevant UK and international electrical standards (e.g., BS 7671).
- Familiarity with control systems, automation, and industrial electrical installations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
