About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is integral to the innovation and development of our next-generation electrical products and systems. You will be involved in the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept generation through to detailed design, testing, and implementation. Working within a progressive and collaborative environment, you will contribute to projects that push the boundaries of electrical engineering. This position offers a hybrid working model , combining the benefits of in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work, allowing for a balanced approach to productivity and professional engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and components for new and existing products, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and cost targets.
- Produce detailed electrical schematics, layout designs, and wiring diagrams using advanced CAD software.
- Conduct component selection, circuit analysis , and power calculations to ensure design integrity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and software developers, to ensure seamless product integration.
- Support the testing and validation of electrical designs, troubleshooting any issues that arise during development and production.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications and bill of materials.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
- Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD) and simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of electronic components, circuit design principles, and power electronics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment .
