About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for developing innovative electrical solutions for a diverse range of industrial and commercial applications. You will be involved in the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring that all projects meet stringent quality and performance standards. Working in a hybrid capacity, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues both in the office and remotely, contributing to a forward-thinking engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical designs, including single-line diagrams, control panel layouts, and wiring schematics.
- Specify electrical components, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to gather information for design development.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, installation manuals, and testing procedures.
- Support project managers and site engineers during the installation and commissioning phases.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for existing electrical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
- Proficiency with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN).
- Knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, and HMI systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of electrical safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
